Job Summary

Break Media is seeking a Senior Web Application Engineer to support and enhance our in-house Ad Platform application -- Apex. This application is currently providing display and video ads services on Break Media’s network. You will have a chance to work on a challenging web application with cutting-edge technologies, and make significant contribution towards Break Media’s ad platform project.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance the current Apex application for better usability and reliability

• Participate in the definition, implementation, and deployment of viability and performance metrics around the infrastructure, platform, and software to monitor overall ad platform system health to prevent incidents through early intervention

• Participate in the definition, implementation, and deployment of measures to prevent production-visible incidents.

• Facilitate incident response activities to minimize production impact

• Gather and analyze Apex bugs/issues and properly input into issue tracking system

• Provide support to internal/external customers and perform timely follow up

• Work with IT to evolve the ad platform environment for better performance

Experience / Qualifications:

• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Some experience in application quality, maintenance, and support

• Proficient in application software development and deployment methodologies

• Experience with the PHP and MySQL

• Good understanding of LAMP environment, local and wide-area networks, and web services. Experience with SQL database and some knowledge of NoSQL technology

• Familiar with quality improvement practices, QA and test methodologies

• Willingness to participate in on-call preventive maintenance and unscheduled service events
