Solar Testing Engineer / Voltaic Systems / New York, NY
Voltaic Systems/New York, NYVoltaic Systems is a dynamic, environmentally conscious, entrepreneurial company. We have generated a lot of interest with our unique line of solar chargers (www.voltaicsystems.com) and are expanding into other small scale energy systems.
We are looking for in individual with the technical expertise to manage technical aspects of product development and ongoing operations.
Responsibilities include:
• Preparing technical specifications
• Testing new products as part of the development process
• Working with suppliers and inspecting production to ensure technical and quality compliance
• Ongoing testing of various consumer electronics (phones, laptops, tablets, cameras etc.) to assess compatibility and identify issues
• Blogging about technical issues, in particular charging of various devices
• Technical support of customers
• Overseeing the assembly process to ensure technical compliance and preparation of custom orders
The successful candidate will have the requisite technical skills, an entrepreneurial bent and the ability to work independently. Requirements include:
• Proficiency in basic electrical circuitry and familiarity with testing equipment
• Ideally formal technical training such as a degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications or IT
• Several years of experience in the workforce, ideally including in an entrepreneurial environment
• Ability to focus on details, maintain clear records, communicate effectively
• Based in New York city or surrounding area, on site 1-2 days a week
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively with minimal supervision
• Flexible hours for dealing with suppliers and customers in different time zones
Most importantly we are looking for someone with the maturity, self reliance and enthusiasm to take on this challenging role. Compensation commensurate with experience.
