Have you ever wondered about the future of IPTV and the possibilities of convergence with a multitude of devices? If you are an innovative, smart, productive engineer with a passion in this area, we'd like to hear from you for our client's Digital Media Systems Lab located in Irvine, CA.
Duties:
- Develop world-class software and application solutions for the digital-TV, IPTV and casual video gaming industries
- Lead, manage and grow a strong software engineering team
- Manage multiple high profile projects on an aggressive schedule
- Hands-on software design, development, debugging and testing
- Create system and software requirements, architecture and design for implementation in current and future product lines
- Contribute to the organization's strong drive to be on the cutting edge of technology through the generation of patentable ideas
- Work with customers and internal partners to explore product requirements and resolve challenging issues
- Effectively communicate ideas, objectives and plans both internally and outside the organization
Skills/Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering; MS or PhD preferred
- Minimum of 8 years' related experience in CE industry specializing in digital A/V, interactive TV, broadcasting or casual gaming
- Prior experience in mentoring and leading a highly diverse team preferred
- Expertise in C++, Java, .net; C as well as real-time operating systems preferred
- Experience with OpenGL, DirectX, 3D graphics, research and development
- Solid understanding of system and software development processes, including project estimation, architecture, design, code, test, and documentation
- Ability to multi-task effectively under considerable pressure of deadlines and easily adapt within a fast-paced, start-up like environment
- Be able to quickly learn/adapt using diverse tools and technologies
Preferred:
- Experience in developing software on both client (embedded-level) and server (enterprise-level)
- Proficiency in - Networking, Visual Effects, GUI, Game System Architecture.
- Working knowledge in digital TV related standards such as MPEG, ATSC, IPTV
- Related experience in CE industry specializing in digital video, audio, cable and broadcasting
