Sr. SDET(Senior Software Development Engineer in Test)
The CAP engineering team manages one of the most important customer management and support systems in use at Microsoft. The Customer Assistance Portal (CAP) enables support agents to serve Microsoft's customers by tracking service requests, initiating repair orders, providing knowledge based solutions, enabling support and subscription revenue, and collecting market based product feedback for product development improvements. We are expanding our team in order to design and implement the next-generation architecture to serve rapidly expanding use and feature set requests.
We seek an experienced Sr. SDET who has a passion for quality assurance and testing, who is very self-driven and has the strong sense of ownership & responsibility, and who is very thorough in the work and very detail oriented. Responsibilities will include delivering new functionalities to our business on time with quality, improving product quality through root cause analysis and process improvement, helping test leads to create a motivated, collaborative, and healthy atmosphere within the test team and across disciplines, and working with other managers to encourage team cooperation and knowledge sharing. We work in a fast paced environment that requires the ability to balance between multiple projects, drive clarity from ambiguity, manage change with consideration for business continuity and the monthly release roadmap, and ensure the high quality of our product.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have
Experience in clarifying feature requirements with PMs, developers and businesses in a very dynamic and fast paced environment
At least 8 years' experience in various phases of software testing, designing, and developing complex enterprise applications; and very familiar with Agile SDLC
Demonstrated leadership in test methodology, automation, and test processes.
Strong object oriented programming, debugging, and test automation skills with C#, C/C++, and/or Java.
Excellent understanding of relational database design and strong transactional SQL scripting skills
Excellent knowledge of Web Services, WCF, SOA, XML, SOAP, and .NET technology.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to influence and drive quality across teams, across disciplines, and across organizations
Ability to perform system-wide root cause analyses and drive improvements
