Job Description

Yoh has a contract to hire opportunity for a Senior UNIX Systems Administrator with Security / Oracle Applications to join our client in Silver Spring, MD.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Job Responsibilities:

- Provides technical expertise in system administration to support projects development process in distributed systems environments on issues related to servers, local services, server configuration, and to ensure that client needs are met.
- Tests, integrates, maintains, and addresses escalated problems in systems environments, including integrating hardware and software.
- Maintains and supplies appropriate documentation to clients. Researches and gathers information to create documentation; revises as appropriate.
- Assist to the system administration team to provide configuration management, inventory management, fault management, and trouble management support on already established servers. Supports periodic maintenance and upgrades of distributed computer environments.
- Assist the management to identify cost reduction opportunities to safeguard the division operation and client interests. Recommends alternative courses of action and implements same.
- Be responsible for Oracle Application Server product and security patch management.
- Provide administration of the technical components of Oracle Identity Management products that support the vision of the client enterprise, single-sign-on architecture for user authentication and authorization.

Essential Job Functions for supporting and implementation of the Office of Science and Technology Science Information Division Information Management system administration

- Provide Linux systems administration support on our Oracle web server environment
- Support web infrastructure applications such as Apache, JBoss and BIND
- Design, build, configure, and deploy new servers and technologies
- Monitor all servers and applications, and troubleshoot for performance
- Resolve operational issues from customers, end users, or internal customers in a timely and accurate fashion
- Perform system backups and recovery
- Perform server and security audits

Job Requirements

- UNIX System Administrator with experience in managing Oracle Applications.

- Must be able to install and configure Oracle Application and OID Server 10g R2 and higher version
- Experience with Oracle web server 10g Release 2 and 11g
- Experience with Oracle's implementation of LDAP
- Ability to write simple shell scripts.
- Experience writing basic SQL and PL/SQL
- Familiar with implementation of java applications
- Familiar with deploying applications to an Oracle application server suite
- Familiar with a 3-tier application design (i.e. DB, WEB, and Client Tiers)
- Basic coding in java is a plus

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree, or higher in computer science, management information systems ,or related field preferred
- Experience working to set up server farms, configure load balance, fault tolerance, and grid control experience is a plus.
- Should have hands on experience with Oracle Application server.
- Should have well hands on experience to Monitor/Evaluation and troubleshooting the deployment of Oracle Portal Applications in Oracle Portal, J2EE and related administrative work.
- Should have hands on experience in planning, installation, configuration and administration of the Oracle Application Server (AS) Portal, J2EE, Oracle BI enterprise, and Mid-tire application components.
- Should have well hands on experience in configuring Oracle AS web cache, managing portal cache settings, configuring identify management, security framework & single sign on.
- Demonstrated organization, analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Overall 5 plus years of experience required with Linux/UNIX, DB platform with Oracle 10/11, and Web server platforms with WebLogic, Tomcat
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills, as well as an willingness to work cross-functionally with other teams in the organization
- A proven commitment to personal achievement, high sense of urgency, team success, and ultimately customer support.
- Experience working with computer server hardware, operating systems, and specific applications within distributed systems environments
- Experience working with systems management frameworks, protocols, and tools
- Minimum three years experience with Oracle Application Server OAS 10g.
- Minimum four-year technical degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution.
