Systems Engineer III / Yoh / Laurel, MD
Yoh/Laurel, MDYoh has a contract to hire opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our client at Ft. Meade in Laurel, MD. The position is currently seated in Falls Church, VA but will be moving to Ft Meade in mid-2011.
Possession of an active Secret Security Clearance is required as a condition for employment.
Job Overview:
The Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) is a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) premier event providing US Combatant Commands, coalition partners, U.S. Military Services, DoD Agencies and Homeland Security / Homeland Defense organizations the opportunity to explore and assess products and services that focus on timely and relevant objectives in order to solve command and control (C2), communications systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capability gaps. Â
Job Responsibilities:
- Interface directly with trials that will be participating in the annual CWID event.
- Provide technical and programmatic consultative service as an advisor to management and all other working groups.
- Participate in the Systems Engineering and Integration Working Group (SEIWG) to provide central management and control of the trials for CWID execution.Â
- Develop, plan, administer, and monitor preparations leading to the implementation and operation of the CWID information infrastructure.
- Conduct trial interviews and monitor trials through the CWID event execution.
- Provide subject matter expertise related to information infrastructure components and services.
- Collaborate with CWID and Trial sponsors to prepare test documentation including reports and briefings.
Job Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of test planning and conduct for complex C4ISR systems.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking principles and components.
- Solid working understanding of software architectures including client/server, thick/thin client, web-enabled, supporting protocols, etc.
- Familiarity with the development and design of mission and C4ISR systems is a must.
- Experience developing system architecture and design and showcasing innovative capabilities.
- Experience providing technical solutions and system integration.
- Experience in reverse engineering and re-engineering solutions for mission systems and working with new technologies.
- Experience researching, testing, and implementing new technologies; developed hypotheses, conducted experiments, and trial assessment reporting.
- Applicant must be willing to work at client location in Falls Church, VA through March 2011 and then work at Ft. Meade, MD location April 2011.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Familiarity with the following command and control systems: Link 11, Link 16, Over the Horizon- Gold (OTH-Gold), US Message Transfer Format (USMTF) Global Command and Control System- Joint (GCCS-J) Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOC's) Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS), Situational Awareness Geospatial Environment (SAGE), Joint Environmental Toolkit (JET), Modernized Integrated Database (MIDB), geospatial-related databases, Joint Mapping Toolkit (JMTK) Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC) and Common Operational Picture (COP).
- CCNA/CCNP
- Microsoft, UNIX, Linux certifications
- System testing experience, (JITC, OPTEC, ATEC, etc. experience a definite PLUS!)
- Knowledge on NSA Type 1 encryption devices to include HAIPE compliance
- Visio expertise, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Solid presentation, written, and oral communications skills (emphasis on white boarding)
Also required to work at the Falls Church, VA facility thru April and then at Fort Meade, MD there after.
