Technical Project Manager (Mid-Level) - Interactive Marketing Agency (Pasadena)

We are an interactive marketing and brand communications agency looking for a mid-level, hands-on project manager with technical and site planning experience. You will be responsible for working with multiple staff, partners, clients and agency stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have agency experience. S/he will have experience in project scoping, project management, and strategic planning. Cross functional teams that the candidate will be working with may include IT, programming, marketing, design, editorial and the publishing teams. S/he will set project scope, work with team to meet timelines, identify resources needed, assign tasks/responsibilities and keep an updated (weekly) forecast of the work flow and project progress for all involved parties. The ability to plan website development (including creating site maps, user-flow diagrams, and wireframes) and conduct detailed QA is critical.



Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manage web development process for multiple clients

• Plan, set, and meet deadlines

• Develop and manage relationships with clients, contractors and in-house resources

• Participate regular weekly status calls with multiple clients

• Develop and maintain internal production schedules on a weekly basis

• Manage multiple projects and production staff to ensure maximum productivity against deadlines

• Track progress of production staff member assigned project tasks

• Move projects through from requirements gathering to design to implementation, testing and delivery

• Create user-flow diagrams, site maps, and detailed wireframes based on project requirement and client requests

• Edit HTML/CSS code as needed

• Provide original insight and strategic thinking to agency approach and process

• Use online project management tools to manage process and communication

• Communicate directly with offshore developers about project scopes and QA findings

• Conduct research on industry topics, technology, best practices, and developments as assigned, and communicate findings and recommendations to the larger team

Qualifications:

• BA/BS or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required

• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

• Intermediate to advanced computer skills; knowledge of .Net development

• Excellent project management skills

• Demonstrated ability to own projects and work independently to drive projects and initiatives through to completion

• Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously

• Comfortable with ambiguity and taking on projects that require exploring uncharted territory

• Ability to work cross functionally with a varied set of internal stakeholders

• Strong organizational, teamwork and time management skills

• Demonstrated interest in the interactive industry, and eagerness to learn new technical knowledge and skills

• Ability to manage/assign work to outside vendors

• Availability to occasionally work odd hours to communicate directly with offshore development teams via IM and email on critical issues

• Ability to conduct and direct intensive and detailed QA, including bug reporting, with clear annotated descriptions for offshore developers

• 5+ years of experience with interactive media development

• Experience with planning and implementing e-commerce projects

• Experience with project management tools like Basecamp, MS Project, etc...

• Knowledge of web analytics and reporting, and implementation of tracking codes

• Hands-on HTML/CSS programming skills is strongly preferred

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mobile technologies/platforms, development, and processes

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of social media and social integration, optimization, implementation, and best practices
