Director of Information Technology
The Director of IT will work in close collaboration with the business teams to ensure operational and infrastructure delivery of a set of large scale hosted products and services. This role is responsible for managing the technical infrastructure necessary to support all business processes and application systems. This role is also responsible for the project planning guidelines and architectural direction that ensures the company's internal infrastructure and supporting systems are reliable and scalable. This position will direct the relationship management of outsourced operational and infrastructure services and the matching IT investments, service agreements and technology risks at levels consistent with senior management's business objectives. This is a management role that reports to the company's SVP of Operations.
Responsibilities Include
• Implementation, ongoing management and monitoring of the company's rapidly expanding infrastructure.
• Management of ongoing deployments of equipment into globally hosted data centers.
• Specification, installation, administration and maintenance of computing infrastructure for all internal corporate activities.
• Allocation of staff and resource planning on multiple projects to ensure that project schedules are met.
• Implementation, improvement and management of operational policies and procedures, including overall internal and external security policies.
• Development and execution of strategies for business continuity and data recovery.
• Hiring and training of staff and/or consultants as business needs warrant.
• Identify and approve technologies and meet current and anticipated business requirements.
• Ensure the daily production operations in applications and infrastructure are effectively monitored, run smoothly with minimum defects on a continual basis.
• Coordination of IT infrastructure management of company's strategic partnership architecture.
• Management of providing 24 hour infrastructure monitoring coverage.
Required Skills & Abilities
• Bachelor Degree or higher.
• 7+ years experience as Manager/Director of IT Department.
• Experience in a direct-marketing environment a significant plus
• Experience with Digital Rights Management and/or software distribution a plus
• Extensive experience building and maintaining and 24/7, global, eCommerce services.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks at one time, make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
•Experience with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) implementation and compliance
• Excellent leadership skills both strategic and tactical.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Excellent knowledge of information technology infrastructure and applications, strong understanding of business operations.
• Excellent problem solving, dispute resolution and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent skills in written/oral communications including group facilitation, presentation, and communicating across entire spectrum of an organization.
• Excellent understanding of IT Service Management framework and processes.
Additionally Desired Skills
• Experience with managing the infrastructure of external, customer facing, web base applications (like Amazon.com, Salesforce.com, Ebay, etc...).
• Previous experience with new system implementation and planning.
• Understanding of telecommunications technology
• Experience with automated monitoring tools.
