The UCLA Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (www.LONI.ucla.edu) is a leader in the fields of computational neuroscience, image computing and bioinformatics. The major foci of our national and international collaborations are to develop multi-resolution, multi-modal and multi-scale computational brain atlases and models of brain structure and function. The group maintains a large 4800+ core HPC cluster and petabyte-scale online and archival storage. It also provides web services and computing resources for hundreds of researchers and collaborators both at UCLA and worldwide.

Job Description

We are searching for a bright, well-trained and motivated Web Content Producer to work cross-functionally to ensure a quality user experience on web and other multi-media content, supporting the objectives of internal and external stakeholders through the design, research, creation, editing, and presentation of relevant and exciting content.

Responsibilities include:

* Serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external users. Assess changing communication needs then research, develop, and implement content-based solutions.

* Utilize web metrics and usability testing to identify and support improvement opportunities.

* Identify and manage content-related deliverables throughout project lifecycles. Project-related activities can include creating and modifying web content, evaluating user experience and information architecture impacts, coordinating Q/A and publication, contributing to release documentation, and planning for post-release content maintenance.

* Review and edit web content and properties on a regular basis while adhering to web strategy and standards and supporting content timeliness.

* Assist internal web contributors with maintaining website content using a CMS, most often Wordpress. Serve as a resource with respect to writing, style, and content structure. Edit, proofread, and maintain quality control. Ensure web content adheres to the branding, style and standards guidelines.

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Art, Communication, any physical science or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

* 3-5 years’ experience in generating web and multi-media content. Time spent contributing to large-scale and/or complex publishing sites preferred.

* Comprehensive working knowledge of web concepts including content strategy, web writing, web editing, user experience design, information architecture, and web analytics. Must have a passion for quality user experiences. Aptitude in digital marketing communications and visual solutions is valued.

* Working knowledge of HTML, basic CSS, CMS/web publishing tools (such as WordPress), experience with SharePoint a plus.

* Proactive in anticipating problems, proposing solutions, and initiating collaborative resolution. This position is part of a team environment. Candidate must be team-oriented but also must be able to work independently.

* Detail oriented and analytical with excellent consulting, problem solving, and verbal communication skills.

* Proven ability to thrive within a cross-functional team. Experience working with multiple personalities on complex projects while juggling competing priorities and constantly changing expectations.
