Web Designer (Santa Monica)
National educational company based in Santa Monica, CA, is searching for an experienced web designer that lives in or near Los Angeles. Applicants who are unable to work ON-SITE in Santa Monica will not be considered. We are searching for someone with a great eye for web design and excellent technical skills to start ASAP. If you have experience designing and building visually stunning e-commerce websites, we are looking for you.
Job requirements:
- 5+ years front end web development experience
- Ability to create functional HTML pages from design mockups from Adobe Photoshop, including creation of graphic elements including user interface elements, forms, and buttons
- Be able to hand-code HTML (written test will be given)
- Expert proficiency with Standard Compliant Websites including CSS based-layouts
- Expert proficiency in CSS
- Strong graphic design skills. Creation of new graphic assets, including logos, as part of the website development and creation process will be required.
- Intermediate Proficiency in Javascript
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Expert proficiency of Adobe Photoshop
- Knowledge of cross-browser issues
- Attention to detail
- An eye for UI Design
- Team player, able to communicate issues effectively and solve problems creatively.
- Comfortable working in ASP.NET environment including Master Pages (no coding is required)
- Comfortable working with SVN source control
- Flash design experience a big plus
This is a temporary contract position that can definitely turn into a permanent position for the right candidate.
