Web Designer with a thirst for more (Melbourne, AUS)

Please note this job is only applicable for Web Designers who live in Melbourne, Australia.____________Koodoz Design is a boutique creative studio that specialises in producing high-end websites which are 100% semantic, hand-coded, cross-browser compatible and pixel perfect.We’re looking for a web designer who:

  • Has a natural affinity for all things design
  • Can create conceptual layouts and visual elements from scratch
  • Understands the ins and outs of standard (x)HTML & CSS
  • Is up to speed with the latest web technologies
  • Has a willingness to learn about what goes on behind the scenes of a dynamic website (i.e. Object-oriented PHP, AJAX, JavaScript and advanced CSS)  

Our studio is a home-based office in Oakleigh (5 min. away from the Oakleigh Train Station), which provides a relaxed environment for creative juices to flow with state-of-the-art Apple equipment, the latest in industry-standard software and great music all day!So what kind of person would suit this job?Ideally, the position would be perfect for a student who is studying in the area of web design and/or has worked in the industry or a freelancer who is looking for some extra cash.For us to consider you as the next member of our team, your folio must show a good understanding of design (hint: Word document CVs are not ’design worthy’) and your code must show a strong understanding of basic (x)HTML and CSS.Other stuff that will get you extra brownie points:

  • Knowledge and demonstration of white hat SEO techniques
  • Strong Photoshop/Fireworks skills 
  • Ability to hand-code stuff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • and a friendly, trustworthy and reliable personality

Currently the position is on a casual basis (averaging approx. 20 hours a week), however we are constantly growing so there is always the potential for the job to become more permanent in the future for the right candidate.
