Web Developer/Designer Internship (NYC) (TriBeCa)

Leading-edge linguistic/educational technology start-up is looking for 2 web-savvy interns (programmer/designer) to develop and maintain our initial website.

Requirements:

- Hands-on experience developing websites (sample portfolio a plus);

- Proficiency in HTML/XML and CSS, JavaScript a plus (for programmer);

- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator, Flash, and/or similar tools (for designer);

- Interest in education and e-learning/collaboration tools (experience a plus);

- Interest in NLP (Natural Language Procesing), Speech Processing, and multi/cross-lingual systems (experience a plus);

- Creativity, dedication, teamwork, striving for excellence and leadership.

Special preference given if knowledgeable in the following:

- Nuance technologies and platforms, STS, HMM, VXML;

- LFG (LFG vs. TGG, XLE platform, Powerset, MS Bing);

- SEO; web crawler algorithms; semantic, multimodal, personalization/recommender, and word cloud search engines;

- Animated robotic toys, avatars, computer animation technologies, video games;

- Foreign languages.
