Woot Workshop LLC is seeking a talented
and motivated Sr. Designer to create and evolve beautiful, intuitive
web interfaces that exemplify usability and accomplish business goals.
This designer will have a significant impact on the creative direction
of Woot.Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute design concepts that engage, satisfy, and excite current and prospective Woot users
  • Collaborate with creative team members, design consultants,
    illustrators, and developers throughout the life cycle of new web
    products and features
  • Create graphical treatments appropriate to Woot's brand for marketing campaigns and other promotional activities
  • Generate and strengthen brand assets, including style and usage
    guides, and work with design contributors to ensure consistent use
  • Contribute to the group's shared knowledge of design principles, trends, and related methodologies
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing and proposed design solutions, and identify ways to improve interactions

  • 5+ years professional experience in web and graphic design
  • A stellar online portfolio demonstrating an impeccable eye for web
    design (through typography, color, composition, hierarchy,
    illustration, and photography) and a thoughtful approach to solving
    user interaction challenges
  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information
    architecture, strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques,
    and the ability to challenge these conventions when appropriate
  • Intimate understanding of the possibilities (and limitations) of current and emerging web and mobile technologies and trends.
  • Mastery of Photoshop and Illustrator (equally comfortable working with vectors and pixels)
  • Basic experience with HTML and CSS development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience designing for major eCommerce/retail websites
  • Top-notch illustration skills
  • Ability to prototype in HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Experience using market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings to inform design
  • Ability to communicate and present to a variety of business and technical stakeholders
  • Intense interest in social media, blogging, web analytics,
    streaming video, search engine optimization - you know, all the stuff
    that web addicts obsess over
